Thanksgiving week in Utah

We took this "all in the family" picture the day after Thanksgiving at our place in American Fork. It was the 1st time for our whole family to be together since before Jeff left on his mission over 2 yrs. ago. Mike and JoAnne and grandkids Skyla, Kyzee and Zyler were out from TX. They are stationed at Ft Hood, where the tragic shootings took place not long ago. We are grateful for their safety and Mike's willingness to serve our country at this time. Bryan is doing his PA work with Mtn Orthopedics in Bountiful; Shawn remains in St George going to school at Dixie College and studying to be a PA as well. Jeff is in Provo at BYU, working towards becoming a Nurse Practitioner. With the military and healthcare in our children's lives, we should be well-taken care of in our golden years!

Bryan and Marie are living with Marie's parents in Fruit Heights right now while Bryan settles into his new PA job at Mtn. Orthopedics in Bountiful. Looking for their own place to move into. Bowen and Bryson were Florida Gators Football players and James was a jailbird, We went western, Tex and Dolly,

Nothing too exciting to report here. Jill has been gone for almost two weeks, visiting Mike and Joanne and kids in TX, helping with our newest gandson, Zyler Clyde. Then she was off to CA for Shane Schiele's wedding. Coming home tomorrow and I can' t wait!! We have had thunder showers all week. I've been walking the dogs and checking in on Rula, who broke her hip a couple of weeks ago. She had three screws inserted...good luck at airport security now!!

Mike received a special promotion as one of the outstanding new recruits for his overall behavior and performance during basic training. After the graduation ceremonies on Thurs., he had his orders to head off to Ft. Hood, TX for his initial duty assignment. He was on a bus to the airport by noon. We stayed the evening in St. Robert and saw JoAnne and the kids and Casey off, driving down to TX to meet Mike there and get their new adventure started, together again!!

Mike graduates from MP training-US Army

Feb. 12th @ Mike's Army MP (military police) basic training graduation at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. We flew into St. Louis on Tues., got a rental car and drove 120 miles to St. Robert,the town right by the base. There we met up w/ Mike's wife, JoAnne, and the girls-Skyla & Kyzee, and Jo's mom, Casey. We all stayed at the Comfort Inn. Wed. was a family day on base, so we got our first look at soldier Mike and got to spend most of the day with him. He looks great!!

New Years Eve revelry - a month later

New years eve we were invited to a concert that included David Archuleta and new boy band V Factory. One of V Factory's members is Jared Murillo, the son of friends Alex & Robin Murillo. They got us in and up close w/ the performers! Jill's sister Marilyn and her daughter Cami also got to come. Jared happens to date Ashley Tisdale (from the High School Musical movies...they met on the set of HSM1 where Jared was a principal dancer). She was there too supporting her "beau", so I played papparazzi with the camera!! Fred

BYU fever!!! It didn't last that long...as the Cougars took it on the chin from Arizona.

We just got back from the $1 movies - saw Bond in Quantum of Solace. What a crackup! he commandeered every known vehicle type in the show - motorcycle, boat, airplane, cars - and knew how to operate them all - all the time never getting hit w/ a bullet himself but killing everyone in his way...but, what do you expect? He's 007.

Raining here, finally melting some of the snowpack and clearing out the air. We now go to church from 9-12 and ward ldrship mtgs before that!
